Exterior

The exterior comes in four configurations: a regular cab with a long bed, a double cab with a standard bed, a crew cab with a short bed, and a crew cab with a standard bed. Each option can come with either a 4×2 or 4×4 drivetrain. You can choose from 14 different exterior paint colors, three of which are new. The 2022 model features new front grills and visuals, as well as lower headlamps that accentuate the Silverado’s athletic aesthetic.

Interior

This year’s Silverado interior features materials and tech that create a luxurious look and feel on the upper 6 trim levels. It has a 13.4-inch touchscreen display for infotainment and connectivity. It’s complemented by a 12.3-inch digital hub that serves as the driver’s configurable instrument cluster, providing information about truck operations and the road ahead. The Rear Camera Mirror and Head-Up Display are also available options that bring the total of advanced screen options to a solid four. Safety

Safety is paramount whenever you get behind the wheel. Because of this, all 2022 Chevy Silverado trucks come with the Chevy Safety Assist collection of safety features. There are six standard features including Forward Collision Assist, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, Following Distance Indicator, and IntelliBeam auto high beams. The HD Rear Vision Camera and Buckle to Drive features are also standard inclusions in all trim levels. Trailering safety is also taken into consideration with the Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert, the option to use Adaptive Cruise Control while trailering, and the best-in-class Advanced Trailering System, which is powered by an in-vehicle app and up to eight cameras.

Performance

All of that sounds great, but can this truck perform? With four engine options, the answer is a resounding yes. The 2.7L Turbo High-Output Engine was updated and now delivers an estimated 240 lb-ft of torque and a maximum trailering rating of 9,500 lbs in a two-wheel-drive configuration. The 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel also got upgraded and now has a max tow rating of 13,000 lbs in a two-wheel-drive configuration. You can also choose either the 5.3L V8 w/ Dynamic Fuel Management or 6.2L V8.
