The Chevy Silverado 2500 HD

There are five trims to choose from regarding the Chevy Silverado 2500 HD lineup of trucks. All are available in rear or four-wheel drive. For performance, you get a standard 6.6L V8 gas engine and six-speed transmission, or you can opt for a Duramax 6.6L Turbo-Diesel V8 with an Allison ten-speed transmission. You can also choose an available Advanced Trailering System, which includes StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control, Trailer Sway Control, Automatic Engine Grade Braking, and more. Also available are eight cameras to assist you with up to 14 unique views. These views include unique trailer hauling options, such as a Hitch View, HD Surround View, and a Rear Top-Down View.

Inside the 2500 HD, you'll be in the lap of luxury with an available 13.4-inch Digital Infotainment Touch-Screen and helpful features like Google Built-In, which gives you a seamless connection to friends and family, as well as navigation, playlists, and the Google Play store. You'll enjoy available heated and ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, and increased passenger space in the top tiers. There are also multiple organization options to keep the cabin of your new truck clean and organized.

On the outside, flexibility is critical. The available Multi-Flex Tailgate provides multiple loading, unloading, and hauling options; they include extending your cargo space when the primary gate is open by utilizing the primary gate load stop, preventing your load from sliding out the back. You can also fold down the inner gate to reach further into the bed.

Chevy Silverado 3500 HD

The bigger brother of the Chevy Silverado 2500 HD is the 3500 HD. It is available in four trims and comes standard with a 6.6L V8 gas engine; you can also choose the optional 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel V8 engine. Also standard is an Allison 10-Speed Automatic Transmission that is electronically controlled for a smooth ride and a mode for towing and hauling that helps you feel in control no matter the terrain. While driving in Tow/Haul Mode, you get the added benefit of Auto Grade Braking that handles the downshifting to reduce wear and tear when traveling on steeper grades.

The interior of the 3500 HD is roomy and full of high-tech features, such as the available 12.3-inch Driver Information Center and a 13.4-inch Digital Infotainment Premium System with Google Built-In on all but the WT trim. Depending on the trim, you can easily monitor cargo and whatever you haul with an available Auxiliary Trailer and Bed View Camera. You'll appreciate several standard driver-assisted features for safety during the drive, including Forward Collision Alert and Following Distance Indicator.

If you plan to pull a trailer or camper with your Chevy Silverado 3500 HD, you can do so with the available Gooseneck/5th Wheel Prep Package and In-Vehicle Trailer app or the standard Hitch Guidance for added support. The standard Trailering Package also includes a Trailer Hitch, Trailering Hitch Platform, and a 7-Wire Electrical Harness and 7-pin Sealed Connector. With the proper equipment and package, the 3500 HD has a maximum trailering weight of 36,000 lbs.

Considering a pre-owned Ford F-150? Got your eye on a used GMC Sierra 1500? Riverton Chevrolet has you covered. No matter what type of truck you purchase, there are a few things to consider when shopping.

Seating and Bed Size

Although regular cabs are the cheapest to purchase and only feature seats in the front row, they are also the simplest design without many bells and whistles you might want. In contrast, crew cabs are the most common and typically offer the largest interior room. Crew-cab trucks have four full-sized doors and a back cargo or seating compartment that is frequently the same size as a mid- or full-sized SUV. However, crew cabs often have a smaller cargo bed. A full-sized truck's regular bed length is 8 ft, while an extended-cab model's bed is only around 6 ft long. A 5-foot or 6-foot bed is standard in most four-door crew cabs. The beds of tiny pickups are typically between 4.5 and 6 ft long, depending on how the cab is configured.

Towing Capability

Pickup trucks can pull boats, cars, utility carts, campers, and other things well. The owner's manual will outline how much weight you can carry. Features such as Hill Assist, Trailer Sway Control, and cameras like those mentioned above assist you when towing. Talk with our knowledgeable sales team about your needs to ensure you get the right truck. In addition to engine power, other things affect how much a truck can pull. Some of them are the size of the cab and bed, the wheelbase length, the rear axle ratio, and whether or not the truck came with a stock towing package. If you're considering buying a certain model, it's important to ensure it can do what you want it to do.

Ride and Handling

Trucks are made to carry weight in the bed, so the ride may be stiffer when the bed is empty. Take the time to test drive the used trucks on our lot to ensure you find one with the comfort you desire. Even in used trucks, much innovation has gone into creating a comfortable and responsive drive that gives you confidence regardless of terrain. Our experienced sales team can walk you through the features of each truck so you feel confident in the one you choose.
